About This Anchorage

Haapiti Bay on the southern part of Huahine Iti (the smaller southern section of Huahine island) is one of the most isolated and beautiful anchorages in the Society Islands — a sand-bottomed bay with excellent holding, spectacular views of the reef, and almost no other boats. Getting here requires navigating through the lagoon from Fare in the north, weaving between coral bommies in water clear enough to see the bottom at 15m. Huahine Iti's coast is rugged and undeveloped — vanilla plantations, tropical bird life, and the silence of a truly remote Polynesian bay. This is the real Society Islands experience, far from the resort crowds of Bora Bora.
