About This Anchorage

Cap d'Agde is a distinctive basalt volcanic headland (one of the few natural rocky features on the otherwise flat Languedoc coast) providing good Tramontane shelter for an anchorage on its E side. The Cap d'Agde marina is one of the largest yacht marinas in France (9,500 berths in the broader complex) and is famous for its naturist village district (Quartier Naturiste). The basalt landscape around the headland is geologically unique on this coast.
