Anchorages on the German North Sea Coast
Tidal navigation — approach only within 2 hours of high water
The German North Sea coast has a tidal range of 2.5–4.0m. All channels in the East and North Frisian island groups dry at low water. Navigation is daylight-only. Current BSH charts are essential — channel buoys shift after winter storms. The entire coastline is UNESCO Wattenmeer National Park with strict nature protection. Helgoland (70nm offshore) is the exception: deep water, no tidal issues, duty-free port.
