Kadırga Koyu Anchorage Guide
Also known as: Kadirga Bay, Kadirga Cove
Kadırga Koyu is a pristine, roadless cove on the southern Bozburun Peninsula with no facilities and exceptional water clarity. Tour boats from Marmaris arrive between 11:00 and 16:00; the best strategy is to arrive after 16:00 for a peaceful evening. Unlike most Marmaris bays, Kadırga Koyu is protected from south and southwest but exposed to the north — plan overnight stays around the meltemi forecast.

Best holding area on the SW and W side of the cove. Small rock on N side of entrance has 9m clearance — stay aware. Sand over rock bottom provides good holding when the anchor is properly set.
Setting Your Anchor
The bottom at Kadırga Koyu is primarily sand and rock with reliable holding when properly set. Use the following approach:
- Approach slowly and check your depth sounder on the way in. At 10–15m, deploy at minimum 7:1 scope (105m chain at 15m depth).
- Drop into the wind or current and pay out chain steadily as the boat drifts back — do not allow chain to pile on the anchor.
- Set firmly in reverse. Apply moderate throttle astern for 30–60 seconds. The chain should tighten without the boat moving backwards.
- Take a GPS bearing. Note your position once set and compare to the scope calculator to confirm you have adequate chain for the depth.
Recommended anchor types for this bottom: Rocna, Delta. See our guide to anchor types by bottom for detailed comparisons.
