About This Anchorage

Wolin Island is unique on the Polish coast — its eastern shore features dramatic white chalk cliffs that give it a visual character more reminiscent of Rügen (Germany) or the White Cliffs of Dover than the typical sandy Baltic coast. The island is a national park and is home to one of Poland's few bison (żubr) reserves — herds of European bison roam the interior forest. The chalk cliffs are actively eroding and rise to 95m at the highest point. The anchorage along the eastern coast provides a spectacular setting in settled westerly conditions. The cliffs are best viewed from the water — a genuinely dramatic Baltic landscape.
