About This Anchorage

Świnoujście (formerly Swinemünde) is the main Baltic port of entry for Poland — the Świna strait between the Baltic and Szczecin Lagoon. The port serves major ferry routes to Scandinavia (Unity Line to Trelleborg, Polferries to Copenhagen and Ystad) making it one of the busiest ferry terminals on the Baltic. For non-EU vessels this is the primary customs clearance port. The outer roads provide a holding anchorage before port entry. The town straddles the Świna strait — the centre is on the island of Usedom (the island itself is partly German). An unusual international split-island city. The Wolin National Park is across the strait.
