About This Anchorage

Łeba is the gateway town for Słowiński National Park — one of Poland's most extraordinary natural environments. The small harbour at the mouth of the Łeba river provides the only real shelter on this section of the coast. The town is a popular summer resort and the nearest settlement to the famous moving sand dunes (ruchome wydmy) of the national park — dunes up to 30m high that advance 3–10m per year, burying forests in their wake. Lake Łebsko (the second largest coastal lake in Poland) and the dune landscape are UNESCO Biosphere Reserve designated. The harbour entrance is tricky in northerly swell — always enter in calm or offshore wind conditions.
