Maldives Entry — All Yachts Must Clear at Malé
A Maldives Yacht Cruising Permit is required before anchoring anywhere in the Maldives. Clear customs and immigration at Malé (Hulhumalé or Malé Commercial Harbour) on arrival. Fly Q flag until cleared. Anchoring on coral is a criminal offence — sand patches only; always scout by dinghy first. Alcohol is prohibited on all inhabited islands. Modest dress required ashore. No anchoring within 50m of marked dive sites without dive operator permission.
