About This Anchorage
Little Farmer's Cay is a small, charming Bahamian community in the southern Exumas — one of the few inhabited stops between the Staniel Cay area and George Town. Ocean Cabin restaurant (operated by Terry Bain) is one of the most welcoming places in the Bahamas — fresh Bahamian food, cold Kalik beer, and genuine local hospitality. The annual Farmer's Cay Festival (First Friday in February) celebrates Bahamian culture with music, food, and the famous Farmer's Cay Regatta — traditional Bahamian sailing sloops race through the cut. The anchorage is in the brilliant turquoise water of the Exuma bank with good sand holding. Little Farmer's Cay Cut to the Exuma Sound side has strong tidal current and requires careful timing — a useful shortcut for those heading to the sound side of the cays.
