About This Anchorage

Browne's Beach is one of Barbados's most popular public beaches — a wide strip of golden sand in the middle of Carlisle Bay, free to all and frequently busy with locals and tourists. Anchoring off the beach puts you in the heart of the Carlisle Bay anchorage, equidistant between The Boatyard to the north and the wreck dive sites to the south. The view of Bridgetown from this position is excellent — the city skyline against the green hills behind. The beach itself has a gentle gradient and is excellent for swimming. Street food vendors sometimes operate on the beach road — good local cuisine options. The position is typical of the main Carlisle Bay anchorage experience.
