Anchorages in Sozopol & South Bulgaria
South Bulgarian Coast — Strandzha Nature Park, Turkish border, and remote wilderness anchorages
The south Bulgarian coast is the most remote and scenically dramatic section of the Bulgarian Black Sea shore. Entry formalities: if entering Bulgaria via the south coast, Tsarevo has customs facilities — notify Bulgarian Port Authority. Turkish maritime border: the Rezovo River (~42°00'N) marks the boundary — do not cross into Turkish territorial waters without Turkish entry formalities. Anchor on the Bulgarian (west) side only. Strandzha Nature Park rules apply south of Sozopol: no fires, no camping. Black Sea NE winds and inland thunderstorms (amplified by the Strandzha mountains) develop rapidly — weather monitoring is critical in this remote area.
