About This Anchorage

Brewer's Bay is a quieter, less-visited alternative to Cane Garden Bay on Tortola's north coast — separated by a short headland. It offers a similar sand anchorage with somewhat fewer boats and a more local atmosphere. The bay has a small beach, the ruins of an 18th-century rum distillery (worth exploring by dinghy), and reliable sand holding. The north exposure is identical to Cane Garden Bay — north Atlantic swell rolls in without warning, making overnight stays risky if swell is running. The Brewer's Bay Campground used to operate here; the remains of the site are visible behind the beach. A short dinghy ride to Cane Garden Bay gives access to the beach bar scene if desired.
