About This Anchorage
Corbu is one of the Romanian Black Sea coast's genuine secrets — a village sitting behind a stretch of completely undeveloped coastline that has been protected as a natural reserve, preventing the resort development that has consumed most of Romania's beach frontage. The protected coastline at Corbu consists of pristine sandy beach backed by dunes and Black Sea steppe grassland, with no hotels, no beach clubs, and no commercial infrastructure. For sailing visitors, this makes Corbu one of the most appealing stops on the entire Romanian coast — a deserted wild beach, good sandy holding, and easy dinghy landing in calm conditions. The village itself is small and quiet, offering a glimpse of Romanian Black Sea coastal life outside the resort economy. Lake Taşaul, the large coastal lake immediately south, is an important bird reserve attracting pelicans, herons, and migrating species.
