About This Anchorage

Koh Yao Yai (Big Long Island) lies between Phuket and Phang Nga Bay, offering a quieter alternative to the busier Phuket anchorages. The island is predominantly Muslim with a traditional fishing culture. Several sandy bays on the western coast offer good anchorage in the NE monsoon. The island is relatively undeveloped with mangroves, rice paddies, and rubber plantations. Excellent base for exploring Phang Nga Bay.
