About This Anchorage
Industry Bay is a quiet, less-visited bay on the northeastern coast of Bequia, home to the Bequia Beach Hotel and a peaceful palm-lined beach. The bay is sheltered from the NE trades by the island's northeastern hills and provides good holding in clean sand. It is open to the south and east, making it susceptible to southerly swell, but in the prevailing NE trade wind season it is a comfortable and quiet alternative to the busy main anchorage. The Bequia Beach Hotel has a bar and restaurant open to visiting sailors — an upscale setting with excellent food and cocktails. The beach is clean and good for swimming, and the surrounding waters have good snorkelling. Industry Bay sees relatively few visiting yachts compared to Admiralty Bay, making it a pleasant choice for sailors seeking a quieter Bequia experience while remaining close to Port Elizabeth's services.
