About This Anchorage
Möja is a lightly touristed island in the middle-outer archipelago with a permanent population of around 200 — making it one of the more populated outer islands. The famous Möja cooperative shop (handelsbolag) has operated since 1901 and is an institution in the archipelago. The anchorage in Möja Söderby bay gives a genuine taste of the lived-in outer island life away from the tourist infrastructure of Sandhamn and Grinda. Rocky inlets around the island offer exploration by dinghy, and the marked walking trail to the island's highest point gives panoramic views across the skerry garden. The mud bottom ensures reliable holding and the bay is adequately sheltered in prevailing SW/W summer conditions.
