Open Baltic passage required — plan weather window

Reaching Bornholm requires an open Baltic passage: 55nm from Ystad (Sweden) or 140nm from Copenhagen. The Baltic can produce steep, short swells in sustained SW–W winds. Plan a weather window of at least 12h of settled conditions. Ferry traffic on the Copenhagen–Bornholm route is frequent — maintain AIS watch and keep clear of the ferry lanes.
