About This Anchorage
Inkoo (Swedish: Ingå) sits at the eastern end of the SW coast archipelago — the gateway between the Hanko peninsula cruising area and the Helsinki archipelago to the east. The small town has a sheltered inner harbour with a guest marina, and the surrounding archipelago offers some of the most accessible day sailing for Helsinki-based boats. The inner archipelago here transitions from the remote character of the Hanko region to the more populated outer islands approaching Helsinki. The mud bottom in the town anchorage provides excellent holding, and the facilities in town — though modest — cover the essentials for passage sailors. Inkoo is an important fuel stop between Hanko and Helsinki for many offshore sailors.
