About This Anchorage

Koverhar is a bay on the Raasepori coast midway between Hanko and Tammisaari. The natural cove provides a sheltered anchorage protected from northerly and easterly conditions by the surrounding peninsula. Though the coastline nearby carries the industrial heritage of a former steel plant, the cove itself retains a natural character with granite shores and pine forest backdrop. It serves as a useful staging anchorage on the Hanko–Tammisaari route, particularly for boats caught between the two harbours in deteriorating weather from the north or east.
