About This Anchorage

The Police area marks the transition from the open lagoon into the Oder River delta — a complex network of channels, islands, and wetlands where the Oder divides into its multiple mouths before reaching the Baltic via the lagoon. Police itself is an industrial town (major chemical manufacturing) but the surrounding delta landscape is remarkable — extensive reed beds, willow forests, and oxbow lakes form a river delta nature reserve. This anchorage is primarily a transit point for vessels moving between the lagoon and Szczecin. The delta area is excellent for kayaking and dinghy exploration — dozens of channels to explore.
