About This Location

The Calanque de Marseilleveyre marks the SW gateway to the Calanques massif — a wild, rugged bay with the distinctive Île de Maïre offshore (an uninhabited island 2nm SW of Marseille). The anchorage is fair-weather only — more exposed than the inner calanques to SW and SE swells. Closest calanque to central Marseille. Less visited than Sormiou and Morgiou, making it a reasonable alternative in peak season.
