About This Anchorage
Skive Fjord is a long, sheltered arm extending south from the main Limfjord channel. The town of Skive (population 20,000) sits at the northern end of the fjord and is the main provisioning centre for this section of the Limfjord. The anchorage in the south arm is one of the most sheltered in the entire Limfjord system — completely enclosed, thick mud holding, and quiet. The fjord arm is surrounded by agricultural land and woodland. Skive has a good marina, a museum covering local history, and the famous Gammel Skivehus (historic manor). The fjord is excellent for dinghy sailing and windsurfing. Pacific oysters can be harvested from the mudflats at LW.
