About This Anchorage
Thisted is the main town on the north side of the Limfjord and the principal provisioning and services hub for sailors heading west to the Thyborøn North Sea entrance or east toward Løgstør. The town (population 12,000) has a full-size supermarket, chandlery, fuel dock, and several restaurants. The marina accommodates yachts up to the Limfjord draught limit (2.0m). The anchorage in Thisted Bredning is comfortable in westerlies but open to the east across considerable fetch. The Thisted Museum covers local history including the remarkable Thy region's Stone Age finds. Thisted is also the starting point for exploring Hanstholm (North Sea) by car.
